At Studio Camour, packaging is part of the piece itself. Every box is made in Germany, with paper from the Gmund mill on Lake Tegernsee, and designed to be used long after the first opening. This is the thinking behind it

Part of the Piece

For us, the experience of a piece begins before you hold it. The box it arrives in is the first thing you touch, the first weight in your hands, the first sign of how we make things. So we treat the box as a product in its own right, designed with the same intention and held to the same standard as the piece inside it. The materials, the structure, the way it opens. Every detail is decided, because this is the moment Studio Camour becomes something you can hold.

Made to Be Kept

Most packaging has served its purpose once it is opened. Ours is designed for what comes after. Every box is built to outlast its first use: robust enough to be used again, and made well enough that you will want to. A keepsake box, a place for small things.

This is also how we understand responsibility. An object made to be kept asks less of the world than one made to be thrown away. Giving the box a second purpose is the same conviction that shapes our pieces, applied to what carries them.

Paper From Gmund

The paper for our packaging comes from Gmund, a paper mill in the Bavarian Alps that has known its craft for generations. Gmund papers are chosen by design houses around the world for their colour, texture and feel, made with a care for craft and for the environment that mirrors our own. You notice it the moment you run a hand over the box: quality you feel before you can explain it. That is the standard we wanted your piece to arrive in.
